I bought THE BITTER MIRROR after hirneag the interview with Ms. Jonic on The World. All I can say is, Where have you been all my life? I was immediately struck by Ms. Jonic’s voice it gutted me and feel, even after many hours now spent with the album that Ms. Jonic is one of the most unique and singular talents that I have ever encountered. To date, I was most impressed with Eileen Farrell and her I GOTTA RIGHT TO SING THE BLUES but Bettina Jonic has a clarion quality to her singing an anger, a pain and a delicious sense of the theatrical that outweighs just about every other performer I have encountered. I am thrilled to have had the chance to discover Ms. Jonic and I am happier still that THE BITTER MIRROR has been re-issued. It is the gift I have given to all my friends for Christmas this year I am certain they will be amazed.
