Winter Holiday Traditions: 1 of 3
Hi everyone! I just finished a few images based on winter holiday traditions in the world of Halflight. There’s a description and previous below – vote to see the full image!
At the University, so far north, the longest nights of winter are long indeed and the sun only rises a scant few hours each day. Festive lanterns and candles are therefore a traditional way of celebrating during these long dark hours. A warm spiced beverage is brewed and spiked with spirits before being shared between friends, and small gifts are exchanged. There are several old songs that are occasionally reworded by students who think of clever new rhymes, and often friends can be found cuddled up before one of the many fires of the campus, turning flames different colors and celebrating after end of term exams.
