If you have the mood and time, you might try to experiment with the page, and be a bit braver with the contrast between light and dark. Even with a well lit night sky, if your only direct light source is fire then the shadows will be deep and there won’t be many depths… Of course, that means we lose out a lot on the details of the drawing, but perhaps it also means you have to draw less initially if you plan to place it into the shadow, anyway?
